That is the question that I would like to ask the chancellor King Gordon. Every year for the last 10 years he has plundered the pension funds of this country for 5 billion pounds, forcibly reducing the worth of the funds and so also the worth of your pension. And what has he done with it? This 50 billion pounds more than the normal tax take.
He was warned before he set about this course that it would adversely effect the pension industry in this country but he went ahead nonetheless. This was something that the last Tory chancellor Kenneth Clarke had looked at and decided was detrimental, but Brown decided he could get away with it. And I suppose he has. But you haven't. The pensioners of this country who have saved for your old age.
Just one more thing for the "government" to be ashamed of.
