A Female Football Commentator - Good Lord!

Heard rumours this morning that the BBC are going to have a female commentator on Match Of The Day. What?

i don't think the female voice is equipped to commentate on football due to the high pitched nature of it. I know that there are females who are very knowledgable about football and who have played at a high level, so this is not a knowledge issue. I just wouldn't want a squealing commentary every time the game got exciting or somebody scored.

I dunno, might make a change from Motty's lagubrious cackle, and Lorro's cynicism, and Gray's strangled vowels, and Tyler's lack of enthusiasm, and Lineker's smugness, and Hanson's snidey jibes etc etc etc.

nah that's what makes Match Of The Daya the programme it is Dollers. Don't want too much female intervention.

Seriously, it's true though she's not commentating just presenting. The female in question is Gabby Logan (nee Yorath).

Personaly I'll happily sit and watch her over Gary big ears and his merry bunch. She's fracking gorgeous and has a great footballing pedigree to boot.

Go for it Gabby. You get my vote love.

No no no. Fenners. Nothing wrong with the lovely Gabby. She knows her onion bags and is eye candy to boot. No problems there. I mean a woman doing the actual commentating, the motty bit not the wing nut Lineker bit. She will be squawking away whenever there is any excitement. It just won't sound right.

Most of the male commentators get on my nerves especially Motson. I am often tempted to switch the sound off but then you lose the sound of the crowd. I don't think a female commentator can be any worse!
