Cheap Booze - So What?

by Irish-Le-Feaux @ 2008-02-24 - 10:08:11

Been a lot in the media just lately about our wonderful yoof going out and getting legless on the streets. As always the knee-jerk reaction is not to sort out the yoof, but to stop the sale of drink at cheap prices.

What a load of cobblers.

The solution to this lies with the parents of these little darlings. They should be responsible for the behaviour of their off-spring.

Is anybody seriously telling me that a 13 year old child can go out and get so pissed that he/she can't stand up and the parents of that child don't know they are doing it. Please!!!!!!!

Those amongst us that like a drink and don't finish up stabbing somebody, vomitting and/or urinating in the streets should not be hit in the wallet because of the woeful lack of parenting that this problem symbolises.

The two steps needed to move this problem on:

1. Ensure that the law is upheld and these thirsty little urchins cannot buy the booze when patently under-age.

2. Bring in a system of punishment for both the yoofs and the parents when the youngsters are found under the influence.

Difficult, costly? Yes. But it needs doing.

Tsk. What an old reactionary I am.

The Messiah Is Working!

by Irish-Le-Feaux @ 2008-02-24 - 09:56:47

Honestly he is. The Messiah is doing it. Slowly for sure but he is getting there.

Yes indeed Kevin Keagan is working his magic at Newcastle United.

The proof. Simple.

Earlier in the season they lost 6-0 to Manchester United. Yesterday they pegged United back and only lost 5-1.

Got to be an improvement. No?

MMR Jab Now

by Irish-Le-Feaux @ 2008-02-23 - 10:09:37

It has been confirmed that measles is more rampant now within the child population than it has been in living memory.

Why is this? Simply because of the parents who refused to get their children immunised based on the totally unreliable evidence of a doctor who has been discredited and who is now awaiting to go in front of the General Medical Council because of his conduct.

These parents have left their own children and other peoples children at risk of this horrible disease. Only 75% of all children have now been immunised this compares to ove 96% a few years ago.

Measles should have been eradicated in this country by now, that it hasn't is a crying shame.

Come on all you parents that were taken in by the media campaign of a couple of years ago. Speak to your GPs and get the jab!!

Keep your little ones safe. Be responsible.

Recycle. Yeah RIght!

by Irish-Le-Feaux @ 2008-02-22 - 20:39:22

Recycle. Recycle. Recycle. That is all we hear. Right?

What we don't hear is that we are sending the items that are being recycled all over the world to be processed.

Locally, paper goes to Sweden, glass goes to Portugal and, wait for it, plastic goes to CHINA!!!!!

What?

Why are we being encouraged to waste our time recycling waste when we then use tons of diesel fuel to move it about the world?

This is another case of none joined up thinking by this government of ours that is really forcing people to recycle without having any infra-structure in place to deal with the items being recycled. Just about puts me off doing it at all.

Arrogant Clever Buggers - Football

by Irish-Le-Feaux @ 2008-02-16 - 20:28:06

Really pleased to see both Liverpool and Arsenal get their come-uppance today. Both seem to think it is fine to put out weak teams in cup competitions. Well in my opinion they are disrespecting the competitions, their opposition and most of all the fans.

Could it be that they have both got foreign coaches?

If I was a fan of theirs then I would be up in arms at the way they ignore the  cup competitions.
